Joshua Sason founded Magna, a New York based investment firm, in 2009. Inspired by the power of an open mind, the firm is regarded for its actively strategic and sector-agnostic approach to investing, as well as its self-directed family office structure. Combined with its core principles of optimism, energy and collaboration, Magna has quickly emerged as one of the most versatile, flexible and creative investors in the market today.
Always seeking to discover unconventional opportunities in places other investors aren’t looking, Magna’s Equities platform was established in the depths of the global recession when few others were investing in the lower middle markets. To date, Magna Equities has invested over $200M into public companies—building lasting relationships with a variety of companies, management teams, and business partners to achieve mutual advantage.
Backed by discipline honed in the public markets, Mr. Sason later launched Magna’s Ventures platform to help private companies intelligently accelerate their growth. With an ever-growing portfolio ranging from construction to technology to food, Magna Ventures continues to help entrepreneurs translate their game-changing ideas into impactful business plans.
Magna Entertainment, the company’s youngest platform, was created to forge capital and strategic support with world-class creative talent, building businesses, productions, and events. As an executive producer, Joshua has financed three feature films and one feature documentary through Magna Entertainment; including two in partnership with film legend Martin Scorsese. His most recent project is “Bleed for This,” a film based on the true story of world-champion boxer Vinny Pazienza, which began production in November 2014.
